Generosity Challenge

Exodus 20:3 You shall have no other gods before me. Proverbs 3:9-10 Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. Malachi 3:10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby, put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

What is the Generosity Challenge?

The Generosity Challenge is a 90 day commitment to put God first in your finances by giving 10% of your income to the local church as an initial step of learning to give generously.  If you do not believe that God has been faithful to you as you give, CCCC will return 100% of what you gave for these 90 days with no questions asked.

Why are we extending the Generosity Challenge?
  • We believe God blesses the generosity of his people.
  • We believe God provides for his work in the world through the generosity of his people.
  • We believe generosity breaks the bondage to materialism and confronts the idolatry of money so prevalent in our culture.
  • We believe generosity is catalytic for spiritual growth because people who trust God with their money learn to trust God in other areas of their lives.
  • We believe that generosity brings joy.
In our culture today, we struggle with worshipping money over God with our lives.  We allow money to determine what we do, instead of following God.  Followers of Jesus all over the world experience God’s blessing when they put Him first in their finances.  Often the initial step to put God first is the hardest one to take.  So, we have established the Generosity Challenge to help with the initial step.  Give at least 10% of your income back to God through CCCC for the 90 day period, and if you believe God has not proven himself faithful, then CCCC will return all that you gave to the General Fund during that 90 day Generosity Challenge period.

Watch for the next Generosity Challenge period to begin the Fall of 2012.
