No, instead of church, we will meet at 9am for a breakfast snack, instructions, prayer and disperse into the community!

Small groups determine their own project. Our prayer is that groups will take individual ownership of a need around them and serve together to meet that need.

Don’t worry! Each campus will have at least one large school partner project and one large Go Local Partner project. Also, some small group projects are willing to take extra people. Search for open groups for those with room!

Hopefully, even if you are not in a small group, you are committed to living missionally, so you are aware of what goes on in your neighborhoods, of the needs that exist there. You already are fostering relationships wherever you go to buy groceries or gasoline, to drop your cleaning, mail letters or walk your dog! Ideally, that is where you find your “project.”

  • Offer to help elderly neighbors or widows by doing yardwork or small repairs.
  • Make a meal or several meals for a foster family.
  • Set up a lemonade stand, pull up the lawn chairs and meet and engage the people who stop.
  • Is there a shut in within your circle of acquaintances? Schedule time that morning to take an appropriate meal, flowers and stay for conversation!
  • Make a meal or sweet treats for your local police or fire departments.
  • Put together homeless care kits to keep in your car for a handout or Samaritan’s Purse boxes.
  • Host a Block Party and meet your neighbors. Watch a movie in the front yard or play games.
  • You can also find ideas on the Hope Initiative webpage under “Resources”.

Yes! You can find all our Go Local Partners at www.clearcreek.org/newgolocal. There are links to their websites, all with volunteer information and contact information for each. Please keep in mind that because we are serving on a Sunday, some Partners may not be open, or available for us to serve.

One of our values at CCCC is relentless stewardship. We believe that if we’re truly going to live out the fullness of this life, we will constantly move toward giving to others out of what God has given to us. The expectation is that as a group, you are resourcing the supplies and equipment needed to complete your project. The basic landscaping materials are provided by the school districts. If project funding is just beyond your reach, there may be some funds from CCCC to supplement your efforts. You can submit a request here.

There will be a dedicated webpage! Navigators will submit their projects and register their groups. That will also be the place for people to register for the Big Projects with schools and Go Local Partners.

Serving as a Family

Sometimes we hear from parents of young children that they want to serve with their kids, but they do not know where to start. Service opportunities are not always easy for the parents, the kids, or the organizers!

Little ones need a bathroom, snacks and water and probably will not have a long attention span or even understand why they are doing what they are doing. But finding the right project to serve can be worth the effort.

Why is it important?

  • Because of the greatest commandments, found in Mark 12:30-31: love God and love others. Serving with your kids demonstrates to them that your family makes loving and serving others a priority.
  • Because this can be the beginning of discovering your child’s gifts and heart for service.
  • Because this is training them. When we serve together, we are laying the groundwork for them to grow into individuals who know what it means to serve others.
  • Because it leads to great conversations.
  • When we use our time to serve others, it shifts our focus away from ourselves.
